Anna Marie Price (née Tuohy), known as Marie, died surrounded by loving family, at Geisinger Community Medical Center on November 30, 2024, in Scranton, PA. She was 80 years old.

Marie is survived by her loving husband, Charles Price, son Eric (Lisa) Price, grandchildren Ronan and Darla Price, siblings Ellen (Edward †) Fealey, Harry (Sarah) Tuohy, Fergal Tuohy, Gerard (Marie) Tuohy, Deirdre (Donal) McKenna, sister-in-law Audrey (Benjamin †) Librera, uncle Robert (Mary †) Smyth and many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors. Marie was predeceased by her parents Frank and Peggy Tuohy, parents-in-law Alfred and Dorothy Price, siblings-in-law Hubert Price, Margie Price, Stanley (Bonnie) Green.

Marie was born on July 8,1944 in Feakle, Co. Clare, Ireland to Frank and Peggy Tuohy. She attended the Feakle National School and went on to graduate from Tulla Secondary School. Marie immigrated to Brooklyn, New York in 1962, living with her aunts and joining her older sister. Marie married Charles Price on August 22, 1970, and welcomed a son, Eric, the following year. Marie worked for many years at Home Insurance, followed by Miller Imports while raising her family. Upon retirement, Marie and Charles moved from Brooklyn, NY to The Hideout in Lake Ariel, PA, spending over 30 years in the community.

Marie’s family remembers her as a kind and loving person who hosted many happy Christmas family gatherings in Brooklyn. She spent summer vacations in the Catskills and often returned to Ireland to visit her family. Marie loved to drive and kept her cars in tip-top shape. She loved music from an early age. Marie enjoyed singing with the Feakle National School choir and listening to her vast collection of Irish and country music records and CDs. An avid animal lover, Marie had a special fondness for cats and dogs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 6th at 10am in St. Mary’s Church, St Mary’s Church Road, Ledgedale, PA.   All attending the Mass are invited to go directly to the church Friday morning.

Friends may call Thursday from 4-7pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel, PA.

Cremation will take place immediately following the Mass in the Lake Region Crematory at the James Wilson Funeral Home.

Interment of cremated remains will take place Saturday,  December 7th at 9am in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ledgedale, PA.
