A celebration of Allyn’s life will be held Sunday March 20th at 3pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel.

Friends may call Sunday from 2pm until the time of service in the funeral home.

Interment with military honors will be Monday March 21st at 10am in the Kizer Cemetery.

Allyn E. Moore, Jefferson Twp and Edgewater, Florida, died Thursday at his home in Jefferson Twp.   His wife was the former MaryAnn K. Swoyer who died June 8, 2017.  

Born in Scranton, Allyn was the son of the late Edward and Marjorie Memery Moore and was a dedicated member of the Salem Community Church, Hamlin.   Prior to his retirement he had been employed by RCA and Thompson Electronics in their management division.   Allyn was always very active in his community and had been a member of the Jefferson Township Volunteer Fire Company and the Jefferson Township Volunteer Ambulance Company, the Kizer Cemetery Board of Directors, the American Legion Post, the Elk’s club, Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Freemason.  His love of community was reflected in his love for his country and his service in the United States Army.

Also surviving are a son Jeff Moore and his wife Penny of Jefferson Twp and Florida;  daughter Leigh Ann Merring;  grandsons Dustin Merring and Sam Rozina;  granddaughter Janet Baluta;  nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter Lynn Moore.
