Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12 at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Ron Liples & Rev. Dan Baker. Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7pm and Wednesday from 10:00am until time of service. Internment with Military Honors, Tisdel Cemetery, Lake Ariel.

Allan Edward Batzel, 29,  of Mt Cobb, died August 7 at home.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of Robert and Janice Wargo Batzel of Lake Ariel. He was a graduate of Western Wayne High School Class of 2004. He attended Bloomsburg University and Community College of the Air Force. He was a member of The SSG Paul S. Sweeney Post 807 in Hamlin.  He loved fishing, hunting, the outdoors, and he loved his country. 

He was a United States Air Force Veteran where he was Staff Sergeant of Air Force Special Operations Command where He recieved the Joint Service Achievement Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, AF Outstanding Unit award with 2 oak leaf clusters, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrroism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, AF Overseas Ribbon Short, Air Force Expeditionary Service Ribbon with Gold Border. He was a member of The SSG Paul S. Sweeney Post 807 in Hamlin.

Surviving are his love, Alicia McNamara and their son Jacob at home; sister Erika Crosby and her husband Nate of Durham, NC; a brother Michael of Lake Ariel; Grandparents Edward and Marilyn Wargo and Allan and Lorraine Batzel; Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 12 at 11:00am in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd. Lake Ariel with services by Rev. Ron Liples & Rev. Dan Baker.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4-7pm and Wednesday from 10:00am until time of service.

Internment with Military Honors, Tisdel Cemetery, Lake Ariel.
