Locklin, 80, born on June 28, 1942, son of the late Gerald and Margaret Henneforth Locklin, and a Hamlin, PA resident for his entire life, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 5, 2022. He is survived by his former wife, Sharon Locklin, his five children, Shari Palmer, Prompton, PA, Jay Locklin and wife Katrina, Roan Mountain, TN, Kari Janiszewski and husband Kenny, Hollisterville, PA, Jason Locklin, Hollisterville, PA, and Glenna Barletta and husband Victor, Lake Ariel, PA. He has thirteen grandchildren, Nicholas and Nicole Palmer, Tristen, Samantha, Jacob, Jennifer and Halley Locklin, Zane and Luke Janiszewski, Rhys Locklin, Caleb, Tyler and Gianna Barletta and four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Isabella, Benjamin and Noelle; a brother Richard Locklin and wife Alice and sisters, Joyce Lyon and Gayle Hemmler and husband, William. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Spencer Locklin. Alfred, known to his friends as “Al”, got his start in the oil business when he and his father began purchasing and transporting oil and gas for their farm in 1957. Little by little, they started delivering to local farms and then local residents. From there he grew his business to encompass Locklin Oil Company, AFL Trucking, Locklin’s gas station, a diner and ice cream stand. Al was well known in the community for being a hard worker and always willing to help anyone that needed it. He was also known to be the best dressed truck driver, wearing ironed button up shirts, ironed dress pants and loafers, regardless if he was delivering gas and heating oil, at the landfill or driving his dump truck. Al always had his children working for him, either pumping gas, driving truck, doing the books or working at the diner. He instilled in his children a powerful work ethic and belief in God from an early age. He attended the First Baptist Church of Hollisterville. Alfred’s verse that he clung to was Isaiah 26:3. Al enjoyed driving his trucks more than anything and keeping them clean. He had a great love for children and would light up whenever they were near. Al’s children would like to thank his caregivers from his visits to the hospitals and his caregivers at home, especially his sister Joyce who provided exceptional love and care.
