William R. Fahrenbach Jr., (Bob),a lifelong resident of Lake Ariel, died Friday evening in the Regional Hospital of Scranton after an illness.  His wife was the former Judith Samson who died in 2006.

Born in Lake Ariel, and he was the son of the late William R. Sr. and Annette Dennis Fahrenbach.   He was a graduate of the Lake Consolidated School and a member of the Lake Ariel United Methodist Church.  He had worked as a Studebaker mechanic in Honesdale and prior to his retirement had worked as a mechanic for the Tose-Fowler  Trucking Company in Scranton.  He was a proud United States Navy World War II veteran.

Bob loved to play cards and could fix anything.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Also surviving are sons William R., III and his wife Pat of Johnson City, NY and John J. and his companion,  Christine Valanda    of Lake Ariel;  daughters Karen de la Cruz and her husband Manny of Carson, CA and Barbara Dempsey and her husband Richard of Mechanicsburg;  a brother Jared of Scranton; a sister Judy Williams of Lake Ariel;  grandchildren Matthew and Justin Fahrenbach, Daniel R. de la Cruz and Megan Storm, Brenda Hopkins, Deanna Radice, Francesca Mehr, Rosanna Stonesifer, Maria D’Azzo and Jerry, Emil and Mandy de la Cruz; numerous great grandchildren;  nieces and nephews and their families.

He was also preceded in death by his sister Betty Cobb; daughter in law Susan Fahrenbach;  granddaughter Sydney Fahrenbach;  step grandson Ben de la Cruz.
