Darren W. Reinert of Sterling, died Monday at Geisinger Community Medical Center following a brief illness. His wife of 11 years is the former Michelle Mattfeld.

Born in West Babylon, NY, son of Barbara Crowley Skelton and Jerry Skelton of Longwood, FL and the late Thomas Reinert, he was a graduate of Western Wayne High School Class of 1991 and attended Johnson and Wales University. He was employed at Penn Paper and Supply.

He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs and NASCAR fan. He enjoyed collecting Star Wars, G.I. Joe, and NASCAR memorabilia and studying the Civil War and Railroad history.

His true passion was his family.

Also surviving are daughters Taylor and Brittney both at home; a step-daughter Marissa Phillips of Boulder, CO; a step-son Patrick Johnstone of Scranton; a sister Danielle Reinert of Long Island; a brother Lane Reinert and his wife Brenda of Florida; mother-in-law Arline Mattfeld of Palm Bay, FL and father-in-law Thomas Mattfeld, Sr. of Saylorsburg, PA; sisters-in-law Marsha Mattfeld and her companion Danny Steenger both of Saylorsburg, PA, Fran Brier and her husband David of Clinton, MA, and Carrie Oberg and her husband Mark of Townsend, MA; brothers-in-law Matthew Mattfeld of New Jersey and T. Barry Mattfeld, Jr. and his wife Johneice of Eugene, OR;ex-wife Beverly Phillips; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Saturday from 12:00-3:00pm in the James Wilson Funeral Home 143 Gravity Rd.

Cremation will follow the service in the Lake Region Crematory, Lake Ariel.
