Anna Delores Koerner, 88, a resident of Lackawanna Health and Rehab Center, Olyphant passed on into eternity Thursday with her family by her side. Her husband of 51 years was Alfred Koerner who died January 1, 2006.

Born February 18, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Dayton and Margaret Case. Anna graduated from Lake Ariel High School and was a seamstress in the garment industry until retirement. She was a life-long member of the Hamlin Assembly of God and its woman’s missionary ministry.

Surviving are her daughter Robin Marhevka of Jefferson Twp; sons Keith Koerner and his wife Joanne of Lake Ariel and Florida, and Alan Koerner of S. Canaan; seven grandchildren and eight great – grandchildren; a brother-in-law George Funk of Waymart; sisters-in-law Jane Case of Colorado, Alberta Evans of Olyphant and Madelyn Peteritis and her husband Joe of Nicholson; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Linda Koerner Gordon, a grandson Craig Marhevka; a granddaughter Tiffany Koerner; brothers William, Harold, and Russell Case; sisters Beverly Cron, Wanda Frank, and Marylyn Case.

Anna’s family wishes to thank Dr. Brundage and the entire staff of Lackawanna Health for their support and compassionate care over the last several years and Traditional Hospice Care in her final week.

Anna overcame many struggles and heartaches but her great underlying devotion and faith in God gave her the strength to carry on in life. She will truly be missed by her family and everyone who knew and loved her. Her long journey on Earth is over and she is at peace.
